The money

If you are and if you're not mayor's child
mayor's child, oh, oh
i will kiss you even if I go to the jail

The money, the money, the money
the schillings odd and double
one pounds, five pounds and where they are
the pimp that has them in his wallet, oh, oh

You are the mirror, the clear glass
the clear glass, oh, oh
that shins in Europe and in Orient

What song to tell you in order you to like it
in order you to like it, oh, oh
that you have angelic body and waist like ring

The stair that you go down, I wish I would go it down too
I wish I would go it down too, oh, oh
and in every step to kiss you tenderly

.....I am Greek .....

i strongly suspected as such ...

i mean sure ... elena is quite popular with the spanish, italians and russians/slavic,... but why would they hang around a greek website asking to learn greek ?..... highly unikely

...and knowing how far too many aussie greeks have "lost" their language (and i blame the parents on that...which is irrelevant anyway) only proves one thing ... you can take the greek out of greece, but you cant take greece out of the greek .... no matter how much the greek tries  )

as for the lessons ... check your email

i dont know at what level you are, but i sent you the first 5 half-hr lessons of 30 - greek level 1

i have a very slow link so the above took me about an hr to send ... please confirm you got them intact, so i can send you the next 5 (and so on)

i tried to compress them as much as viably possible without loosing quality ...hope its good enough for you

have fun

That's a harsh generalisation and one that isn't simply a case of black or white.

Stop assuming that because some (not all) Australians with a Greek or Cypriot background that the parents are always to blame. You don't know what anyones circumstances are or how they came to lose their cultures / traditions over time.

i said FAR TO MANY .... and not ALL

and i stand by what i said

lets be realistic .... if its not the parents...then who is?

this has nothing to do with "those" parents NOT WANTING to retain anything of their past

their right and privilege to bring up their kids as they so wish

but like i said  .....

you can take the greek out of greece, but you cant take greece out of the greek .... no matter how much the greek tries

wink

Fascinating comment. I spent enough time in Sydney to know what you mean.

It's not as bad in other parts of the country. Canberra, for example, is great!

But don't tell the Sydneysiders that, we don't want them here

False. We notice when you are wrong on paper too. I turn it into a game with my staff, in fact. $10 to the person who spots the most mistakes on a resume.

The way people choose to communicate speaks volumes about their character.
