Meeting the 'new homeless' on Greece's freezing streets

Hundreds weave their way around the small, bare courtyard of the municipal soup kitchen, queuing patiently.
Visitors have gone up by a quarter in the past few months as homelessness here reaches new heights.
"This centre was founded years ago to face the problems that exist in every big city - people addicted to drugs, alcohol and so on," says Dimitra Nousi, the director of the project.
"But suddenly it became somewhere that has to face the poverty of the crisis.
"It's a completely different phenomenon - we're still shocked about it."

things arent good back home , but not as bad as described in this article....
and im talking about greeks and not albanians, africans and others , because you should know that greece was importing poverty for more than 15 years.
if all low class (im sorry to say that) foreigners leave the country, things might get a bit better

They think we are stupid. They laugh at as because we work so much, they say we have no life.
Don't you know that if you don't work, your life is very full?!!
I wish greeks had no life like the diaspora greeks!!!!!

this is what i thought about this.
last 8 years ago, that i was in Greece last time, and what i have heard was; 10% of the population in Athens was homeless. In my mind, i think it is a lot of bull dust. it could be more then that.
i can see the scale i could compare here in Australia to Greece. Australia are less then in Greece. Greece has more population then here. Therefore that Greece has more homeless ppl then ever.
but the question is; why the EU check or inspect the country if they have any homeless ppl has a home go to? other EU countries are better then Greece.
i wonder why that EU are expecting Greece to bankrupt.

I pushed my latest skin shell into folded bark,..and binded it tightly with grass strings from wet and marinated tongue whips,.. then I looped it over the head of a small swallow during an ambush,.. and now await it to migrate north for the winter. A Lizard pelt is the size of the average woman's foot,.. so,.. it's a sock.

but..
i believe in times of national emergency,we can have the Greek ORthodox Church donate money and property and pay taxes.
can i ask..why is it noone today enquires at the right for the Church to pay taxes?
that cunt Christodoulos fought tooth and nail for the Church not to have to pay taxes..miserable fuck.
and the rest of them as well..
