I m from Agrinio city in Greece and I want to study in La Trobe University Computer Science in Melbourne. I don't know if anyone has been studying there but I would like to know something about that. Also, I have already a Greek Diploma in Electronic Engineering and I hope that it would be helpful for me to find a part-time work over there.

I have a suggestions i don't know if your interested but here goes.
I heard that there are companies that will come and pick olives for you for a fee.....
Why don't you set up your own business and do that, get your family involved for a few weeks and go and pick olives... at least you'll make some cash...
I know you have qualifications, but in the mean time you have to survive. If you have to kremese apo skinia like a monkey you have to do it...You don't know where each opportunity takes you.
When my husband and i came to Greece his qualifications were not recognised as he had to study the legal system in Greece. So in the mean time he did any job!!! He even picked olives, grapes, did some yard work until he got a better job. He hated it but his ego was so big he would not be unemployed and sitting idle ...
prepi na eise thrastirios min kathese kai kles ti mira sou get up and do something...

Yes it was. The farmers lived from the Europian Grants. Now the Europians Grants are in the half of the original value. Meaning if someone has a permit for 30 tones tobacco he will get some 10000€ - 15000€ Grant. The Europian union agreed to cut out some of grant and the 2012 - 2013 there will be not anymore grant. For this year the grant is on the half price. For the 2011 it'll be a quarter. Also for the Green energy the government give for farmers to make their solar energy. Let me explain how it works. First we need 4000 - 5000€ to take care the papers after that ΔΕΗ wants an other 15000 - 20000€ to buy the transformer and to connect with the power supply. After all this to buy the solar panels we ll need 300000€ and here starts the game with the banks. The bank will lent you the money, as a guarantee the same the solar field. The interest rate ll be about 8,5%. But nobody has 15000 to buy the transformer. And I have already checked to work in some of this companies as you said. The employers do not hire up Greeks anymore. The most of them are Albanians. I worked for a month this summer as I said and I worked together with 3 Albanians and 2 Libyans.
The most employers hire up Pakistans, Albanians etc etc. We the Greeks do not have Jobs.

και αν θες και tip.
