just curious...if I were related to you...and i brang a muslimana (NOT one that wears a scarf) what would you or your people think? how do you think the greeks you know react to these kinda things?

I personally don't think its that bad for a guy to bring a muslim girl home as long as he has no intentions of converting...however i get worried when a greek girl brings a muslim man home...thats when my alarm bells start to ring. only because i can see her converting and comprimising her culture/religion/identity for his own (thats how it usually happens anyway).

thoughts?

a friend of mine, greek ortho, married a muslim, not in a greek church tho, neither wanted to convert. i dont see a prob with it, as long as u dont bring ur r/s probs about conflicting religions to the party and leave those at home, im not fussed.

ok :P my grandparents had a hard enough time when my uncle braught an italian home who he is now married to with three kids,,
in saying that in regards to my mum n dad...well they dont really want a chink in the chain ..well mums side anyway my mums side only married greeks so us as the younger generation r expected to keep that tradition going
in my opinion tho if you where to bring home a muslim female and there wasnt gna b conflicting opinions between the families then sure y not but if u wanna marry into a relationship in which is covered by contreversy bcuz the inlaws want it there way or the high way ..is it really worth it ?
as from a greek girl marrying a muslim guy i do agree that its abit....bcuz alot of muslim guys and their families would expect the female to convert but in saying that if there was no conflic in religion and no1 was expected to convert and wat not ...then by all means go for ya life

and what happens when children come about?

sounds to me, a conversion not coming into the relationship, like shit is waiting for a place to happen. If not by the couple involved, which it will, watch the fireworks from the parents, the extended families and the communities in question

Is that not a bit hypocritical?

I know one greek girl who married a Muslim and had to convert, I know 3 Aussie men who married Muslim women who also had to convert. It depends on the family and how strict they are with religion, its not purely based on gender.

Personally give me a Christian no matter what background, I would prefer not to marry into a bunch of hypocrites.

i find that fucken weak...especially for the greek girl. Ide have no respect for her if i met her...and those three guys are pussies with no balls..

I was with a muslim girl for a little while, i straight out told her ide never convert and she did not have to either (if things went that far)..and i remember the reaction i got from one greek girl i told this to;

"YOUR WITH A MUSLIMANA!!!?!?!" her eyes nearly popped outa her fucken head...haha

but yea...when people don't have the balls to keep their identity, and just change like that...i really look at em like their something else. it gets to me

How is it weak? Its realistic, one will always have to convert and if you are to marry an individual who is of a muslim religion, that tends to be the way. Remember you are also marrying the FAMILY!

You will always have to convert, the muslim girl if from a strict family, would not have been allowed to marry if it reached that situation.

LOL, yeah its usually the reaction, I knew a greek boy who dated muslim girls, was a real hypocrite because he did not approve of greek girls dating arabs, christian or not. Why is it okay for the greek men though?

Eyo also has a point about the children, how would that work?

i know a Greek young man brought a muslim girl home and the parents freaked, anyway they proceeded to get married, under the protests of both families. One of the prerequisites for this young man was to get circumcised.

They got married in a rush and the man didn't get the chance to get the chop, but me thinks he did it on purpose, as he should. On their honeymoon his wife refused to sleep with him until he got the chop. Well guess what he never got the chop and 4 months later got divorced..

SO DON'T DO IT HALLDOME

WHAT ARE YOU THINKING TRELATHIKES AND SHE WILL NEVER APPRECIATE THE GREEK FLAG TATTOOED ON YOUR ARM

why are you even thinking about it, just drop her!

 Tzaki love your form.

What did the girl expect? She was not marrying a Muslim and he should have known better! In alot of cases, the girls are usually sent overseas to bring a groom home, marry their cousin or someone from the same village

hey yo

first of all...im not marrying anybody anytime soon

second of all...this is to NERDY...they dont always convert. My best mate has a muslim mother (she is not religious though - but they got married in a catholic church) and his father is catholic...he himself was baptized but doesnt consider himself very religious. I also know of other families that did something similar

and yes i WAS with a muslim girl...even brought her home to meet my family (on christmas outa all days haha) but it was cool..my family liked her and her family liked me...mainly cause she had a catholic mother who remarried a catholic guy...so i never met the muslim father

and i will likely marry a greek girl (if that day ever comes)...BUT...there is something about muslim girls that i do like. They seem to have a very traditional, respectful way about them...like the old school greek and italian girls (that hardly exist anymore). Can't really explain what it is i like about them though...and i seem to attract alota muslim chics...people should call me M & M (Muslim magnet) ..i got another ones phone number last night in brighton??
