[Pyrrhos]

This came about after a long discussion with a Serbian friend of mine at a recent gathering. He and his Serb friends are adamant that the Vatican is set to destroy Orthodox Christianity for fear of a Pan Orthodox union made up of Russia, Greece, Serbia, Romania, Bulgaria, Ukraine. The fear is based on 1000 year old belief that Constaninople will rise again as an Orthodox Capital to counter the Vaticans influence in religous affairs and the fact that the Catholics sacked Constantinople back during the fourth Crusades. The Catholics are scared that the western Christianity, Catholic, Anglican, Protestant, Lutheran are "less" religious or less spiritual in their teachings than Eastern Orthodoxy which is closer to how Christianity was worshiped originally with the hyms and chanting. The assumptions are that Jesus would find more affinity with Orthodoxy than Catholocism.
What do you guys think? I personally don't think it's as black as that, but do believe that whenever the Catholic church was called on by Greeks over the centuries for assistance against islamic invaders, they didn't oblige as Christians should...........memories are long and bitter in the Balkans.

I agree with you to a point Pyrrhos. The Vatican is less of a spiritual institution these days but rather a financial raising entity. This is true for many churches worldwide and the Greek church isn't immune from this scourge.

The Catholic church doesn't neccessarily want to ''destroy'' the Greek Orthodox church... It wants to unify it like they used to be, or my bluntely, take over it, as the Roman Catholic church always has worked to have other donominations under itself, particularly the Orthodox and now the Anglican church.

One of the reason why I refuse to go to church is because of our Catholic/Western puppet traitor Patriach Bartholemew is head of the our church.
The Greek Orthodox church should keep far away as possible from the Roman Catholic church, not have close ties with it as Traitor Bartholemew is doing...
Why? 2 reasons, especially 1 important one.

1. the Greek Orthodox church and Roman Catholic Church have some very different doctrines.

2. Most importantly, the Roman Catholic church and Rome is ''the whore of Babylon'' as described in the ''Apocalyse'' chapter in the bible...
Yet Bartholemew seeks closer ties with ''Babylon''? Why? Is it coz he has the devil inside him??
